New Chef

Its been a while since Ive ate at One Pico but I went last weekend and the food was very impressive. The waiter told me that there is a new restaurant chef who really knows food. I had to agree, the food looked beautiful and tasted great! Try this restaurant, you won't be dissapointed.

Not what I expected

Extremely dissapointed. One pico is not the name on the door. Hard to find. Filet Mignon with french frys is not elegant. Filet was not creatively plated or cooked. Horrible lighting had to add extra candles to see the food. Service was slow. Seems like a cafe style to me rather than and elegant dinning experience. Over rated.

A Hard Boiled Easter Egg!

I've enjoyed many meals at Pico One but this was NOT one of them. The restaurant required faxed credit card and signed information for the holiday meal. It was a pre-fixed priced of $60.00 per person for brunch. At this price I expected to have great service, food and a festive atmosphere. Besides the special menu there was nothing acknowledging the holiday. For someone who dines there regularly it just seemed like another meal at the restaurant. First let me say that the restaurant was not full. As far as service, our wine and water glasses we're never refilled. It was a half hour between the first and second course. The entrées were not remarkable. The celery root in the chicken dish was so tough that it was in-eatable. When we complained to the host stand the response was very minimal. We were just offered a round of drinks for there series of problems. For such a reservation production, and the pre-fixed price, it was a pathetic concession. If you live in LA I would not plan a special event at Pico One. The 2 rating is for the lovely location.
