Famed Chef Todd English pairs up with Hollywood darling Eva Longoria Parker to introduce us to Beso, a glamorous and refined restaurant serving up fine fusion cuisine with a side of glitz nightly. Step into Beso and be seduced by the lush and invocative palette of deep crimsons, rich wood tones, and alluring leather upholstery. The menu infuses Latin-inspired flavors with Middle-Eastern flare for a tantalizing array of meat and seafood selections. Eva’s Tortilla Soup is a comforting bowl of spice and the Beso Paella is an invigorating melding of surf and turf. Every bite glistens like the crystal chandelier hanging overhead.
I've been reading about all the hype around Beso for years and finally made it out to Hollywood to check it out, and i have to say, i am very pleasantly surprised! First of all, it's in the heart of Hollywood and there's a lot going on in the area. It's just 2 blocks from the Pantages...we made it here on a fluke after a show and had a great time! The mood inside is dark and sexy with great lighting, nice high cielings and cool design..it looks like it might've been a studio o something at one point..it definitely has an Old Hollywood vibe. The hostess was super friendly and we didn't have to wait for our booth, which gave us a great view of the main floor and the bar and lounge, it was really busy for a Friday night - there was a private dinner party going on across from us and the vibe was great! We had a great server (forget his name, but super helpful and really knew the menu, which is so rare these days) who paid attention to details and recommended my new favorite red wine! After hearing so much about Eva's guacamole and reading the reviews, it was way better than i expected. We tried that and the Margarita flatbread with the Bibb Salad for starters..that bread was so good with the queso fresco! We shared The Chili skirt Steak and pork chops - and they were both delicious! Great seasoning on the steak and the pork chops with mole was incredible! The truffle mac and cheese was beyond good - i got stuffed too soon, otherwise i would've gone for more of the sides. There really was too much to choose from! All in all, a really fun night out and a great meal in Hollywood..would definitely come back!
