Crustacean

Crustacean in Beverly Hills offers award-winning Euro-Vietnamese cuisine in a stunning atmosphere. Entering through the cocktail lounge, guests first experience the restaurants famous “walk on water” as they follow a weaving path atop a floor-level aquarium to the main dining room. Seated amid French-Colonial décor, the menu entices the senses with selections such as Shaken Beef flambéed in Chardonnay and Rice Ravioli in a soy-sesame emulsion. Dishes “From An’s Secret Kitchen” are especially enticing; although the entire menu, down to the desserts, demonstrates a talented mastering of unique fusion cuisine. The excellent wine menu contains recommended pairings listed beneath each respective dish.

Want one in Chicago

This restaurant is fabulous. The service, the drinks, the food - I haven't found one better. We flew 8 hours to have dinner here.

Five Stars

This was my first experience at Crustaceans. I had heard how good the food was and I was not dissapointed. The marinade that the crab is cooked in is fantastic. To be honest once the crab was gone I put the dry herbs in my mouth and just sucked the juice out. So tasty I will be back!

OUTSTANDING SERVICE

OUTSTANDING SERVICE

perfect choice

Great experience over all.

Crustaceans

Hands down the best roasted crab I had ever had, I recommend anyone who eats there to get the roasted crab with the garlic noodles and a good red wine. I'm going back next week just to eat the crab again!!

Everything was great

Everything was great.. the food, wine, lobster salad, service. We even met the owner.. who was so sweet. will be back...

Food and service

Outstanding food and service

Crustacean Restaurant

Wonderful service and delicious food but if you want to be able to speak/hear with your dining companion asked for a quiet table upstairs.

excellent

Thank You Crustacean!

OUTSTANDING!!!

This is the best restaurant in the WORLD!! I would visit this restaurant EVERYDAY!!

Worth the trip

We flew out to the US from Australia to celebrate a birthday, valentine's day and our 12 year anniversary. Having visited Crustacean for the first time in Oct 10...we could harldly wait to go back there and enjoy the food, ambience and energy of this fabulous restaurant. We were not let down..all was perfect. So perfect we went back there again! In fact we are planning a holiday in Oct 11 just so we can savour the dumplings, crispy rice paper rolls and the attention of our magnificent waiter, Sean. YUMMMMEEEE!! C u soon!

Asian with Flair

The ambiance was excellent the minute we walked through the door and our great experience continued until we left. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. Whatever you order, be sure to include the garlic noodles!

Wonderful restaurant for romance

Outstanding service. Very friendly to customers and the food is superb. The bartenders were attentive and offered a conversational atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and inviting.

Perfect date restaurant for singles and marrieds!

Love the warm, gorgeous, romantic design of the place and the experience of walking on water to your table (a winding glass path with fish below) and the garlic noodles with prawns. Ah, the garlic noodles! My husband and I have lived in LA a long time but we just adopted a child, and we wanted our first "date night" to be special, so I read the reviews of Crustacean here and thought it sounded perfect, and even though it was a long drive from our home in the Marina, it was well worth it! DELICIOUS, special and romantic. I highly recommend it for a memorable meal with anyone special in your life.

***AWESOME****

I came here for my 3 year anniversary, and it sure was a good decision, even though i was late for my reservation t didn't take long for the waiters to find a different place to sit. I must say its one of the better restaurants vie been to.

Excellent

Excellent experience. Loved it.

Don't Believe the Naysayers!

We booked a reservation at Crustacean for 9 people to celebrate my son's college graduation and subsequently read various reviews saying it wasn't good. Based on those negative reviews I ALMOST canceled our reservations. Glad I didn't. Most everyone in our party ordered the Secret Kitchen Roasted Cracked Dungeness Crab and said it was by far the best crab they'd ever eaten. The Garlic Noodles were also amazing. My wife ordered the "Pink Lotus" cocktail (with pink cotton candy) and LOVED it so much she had to have another (not as sweet as it sounds). Prices aren't exactly cheap, but not out of line with other higher end restaurants in LA. Waitstaff was really friendly too. As far as I'm concerned, let the people who don't like Crustacean stay away, more room for us next time we go back for more crab and noodles!

Overall Best Restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA

When you put the entire dinning experience together. Crustacean is the best restaurant in Beverly Hills, CA. Outstanding atmosphere, great drinks, wonderful tasting appetizers and secrete noodles are the best. I'll be back for a little piece of heaven next time I'm in town.

Excellent seafood

Excellent food. Please try the crab and garlic noodles.

A Very Nice Experience

Excellent service and superb selection of well prepared food.

Great Restaurant

Love the food and the service is always perfect. Good place to impress someone.

Outstanding service, great food

Crustacean did not disappoint. Our server Brian was incredible. So attentive, accommodating, welcoming and pleasant. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try delicious food, amazing ambiance and great service. I do have one criticism, it was hardly Vietnamese! I know Vietnamese food and this was more Chinese and Euro flavors. But still, very good!

We keep coming back!

It is always a great experience to dine at Crustacean! We were also honored to have Executive Chef An visit our table...quite a treat! Atmosphere is fun, albeit a bit noisy, and the service, although at times a bit incosistent, this time was PERFECT! My husband ordered 2 different bottles of wine...neither available...and this was a bit disappointing, but our 3rd choice was still a good one. Even with the few nuances, Crustacean is a high recommendation!!

INTERESTING

I WAS THERE TWICE . VERY GOOD .

Great Restaurant

Beautiful Interior, Great atmosphere, Wonderful tasty food! Best Garlic Noodles by far. A must try.

Decent food...lousy service

Went to Crustation for a friend's birthday. Arrived a half hour early and expected to wait some.....we actually waited for one and a half hours before being seated. There were many parties who were not being seated on time, and while it was fun to converse with them at the bar...after awhile it became crowded, and with martinis at $15 a pop, somewhat expensive. Once seated a harried waiter took our order and subsequently ignored us unless we waved him down. The food was good and almost made up for the poor service. As this was my first time at this resturant I may try it again....perhaps on a week night.

worst birthday dinner ever

Not The Same Restaurant It Once Was

My girlfriend and I went to Crustacean to celebrate her birthday. We had been there three times in the past (once in SF, and twice in Beverly Hills). We *used* to really like the restaurant, but this last visit will likely be our last. 1)The food was bland. The menu hasn't changed much, but in the years since we last visited, the preparation must have, because neither of our meals were memorable. My fish was overcooked and underseasoned; her short ribs were decent, but ordinary. Even the secret kitchen Garlic Noodles were bland, and not as tasty as we remembered. 2)The service was unimpressive and borderline rude. My girlfriend was served cold soup; we asked them to take it back and give us a new one. When the plate runner brought the soup back, she made a snotty comment along the lines of "I hope you can see the heat coming off of this soup now, to prove that it's hot". Plus, the wait time between seating and ordering was especially long (and the restaurant wasn't that busy), and the wait between ordering and eating was also fairly long. Our server then brought us dessert menus while we in the middle of our entrees, and sent the busboy over while we were eating our dessert. It was clear that they wanted us to hurry up and leave. We were baffled by this, because we were not the last patrons left in the restaurant, nor were we taking up a table that they needed in order to seat new patrons. In short (too late, right?), we were very disappointed in our experience at Crustacean.

Won't be back

I've heard a lot about this restaurant but it didn't meet my expectations and I won't be going back. I feel as though if I'm going to spend a lot of money the least you can do is provide good service. The waiter asked me if I wanted water he brought out a $7 bottle of water but he didn't let me know that free water was an option. There are hidden items that aren't on the menu and the waiter didn't do a good job of describing them to me. My biggest complaint was the service and I don't think the food is worth it. It was my boyfriend's birthday he didn't a happy birthday or nothing. Boooooo Crustacean!

think before you go there

It was my 23rd anniversary and the food was good, the Sashimi Yellow tail was so thick that I was very disappointed. I arrive to the restaurant at 7:30pm and I needed to wait like 12 minutes and half the restaurant was empty, expected on a Monday night. There is no place to sit while you wait but that's not so bad, what really disturb me is that I ask for a booth to be seated and they were many small booths available. I saw several couples sitting in larger booths but the manager took me to my miniature table and I say please give me a booth and the answer was, well they are all reserved for the owner. When i make my reservation I ask for a booth and they told me, we don't reserve booths, mention it when you come in and if available we try to accommodate. I don't know if the manager don't like the way I look or something because half the restaurant was empty and couples were using large booths. When I was having my dessert the waiter offer to move me to a booth. I will never go back there because if you don't know the owner they will put you in a 12 x 12 table and I spend around $190.00 for 2 people. And I'm giving a 1 because the waiter was the only nice person at this place. So it doesn't matter the food at all if you can be comfortable while you eat. And the booth that I ask was empty, 2 ladies sit there when I was leaving.

Very Disappointed

I had reservations at 8pm, and was not seated until close to 8:30pm which would have been fine had there been a waiting area or if they didn't seat every other party that came after us immediately. The hostesses have snobby aura and don't do much accept stand around and give you dirty looks. I had high expectations for this restaurant but it failed in every way. The food was ok. Servings were not that big, just average. Garlic noodles were to salty. Lobster needed some more flavor. If you want to pay $100/person and eat an average tasting overpriced meal with horrible service, then please do try this place out. Otherwise stay away from this overrated restaurant. My one star is for the walkway aquarium.

:(

Food made my boyfriend and I sick, we both had the rosted crab, so it had to be the food. We will not visit this place again.

childrens dropping place

when you like the sound of screaming children and photo flashes everywhere around you because of the restaurant decor, this is the place to be. i myself go to a restaurant because of the food they will not see me again

Horrible!!!

The waiter was absolutely awful, words can not desrcibe my displeasure.I had to flag him down several times with my actual hands, and when that no longer worked my brother had to phyisically get up from the table to order dessert and get the check. What makes it so bad is the fact that it was my mothers birthday and we were left waiting. That type of service is unacceptable anywhere. Crustacean used to be mom's favorite restaurant and we frequented there often, but after service like that (with two managers on the scene no-less.) I doubt we will be going back or referring our friends and family like we once did. I will now surely tell them to avoid this place because they have surely forgotten how to run a business; or they don't care all together. I really can not think of an instance where I have ever had this happen before, to be neglected to the point where I have to physically get up and get my waiter, not even at this restaurant and I have ate there twenty times or so prior. After this fiasco I won't waste my money and time going there any longer.
