Amazing Service!

A friend came to visit me in LA from out of town and I wanted to take her here to enjoy a delicious meal with the unique ambiance afforded by a restaurant located in an historic, renovated fire house. My friend and I ordered the delicious crab cakes (one of the specials) and the meal was delivered before we finished eating a piece of bread. We were delightfully shocked with the speedy service. The meal was delicious and the key lime pie (made from scratch) was heavenly. The service throughout the meal was attentive without being disruptive to the conversation. I highly recommend Engine Co. No. 28.

Truly unhappy

Let me begin by stating that the only reason I created an account for this website was solely for the purpose of expressing my opinion about this restaurant. Yesterday was my wife and I 3rd year anniversary, so I figured we'd try something new, what a mistake that was. The food is ridiculously priced for both the quantity and quality of food you pay for. My wife was craving the cheeseburger so she ordered it, it arrived cold, and upon tying it myself was truly disgusting, and afterwards my wife was nascious. The waiter "Chad" on multiple accounts forgot our condiments and to take our order, nonetheless he was corteous, im assuming in order to make up for his mistakes. But I must really blame the hostess for that matter, she sat us in a small table near the window un-noticeable by all, now this might not sound terrible at all, but lets consider that there are no tables there but rather BOOTHS!and yes I had a reservation. I ordered the "Creole with Red beans and Rice: Andaoille Sausage" served in what i'd like to describe as my morning breakfast bowl, tiny for on the run mealing, mind you this entree was $20 for such a small meal. Parking is only available by valet, $7.00. This completely ruined my anniversary, and solemly swear never to return! Next time we'll just head over to El Cholo on Western as we usually do.
